FAQ's for Houseboat Rental

Frequently Asked Questions

Pleasure Craft Operators Certificates are required by both "Captains".  Visitors to Canada are exempt.  We do a full vessel familiarization and trial run.

Q: WHAT TIME IS THE HOUSEBOAT TO BE MOORED EVERY EVENING?

A: All boats are required to be securely moored by 6:00 PM

Q: WHAT FUEL CONSUMPTION SHOULD I EXPECT?

A: Typical running time costs at cruise is $15.00 per hour. For the average charter you should budget $20 -$30 per day for fuel.
Of course, it depends on how much traveling you do!  The houseboats are equipped with a 230 liter tank.  You will leave the dock with a full tank of fuel.  You will not need to refuel until you return.  If your charter is more then one week, we suggest returning to the marina to refuel, have your holding tank pumped out and have your propane bottles checked.

Q: WHAT EXTRAS SHOULD I BRING FOR MY KIDS?

A: You should bring lifejackets for any members under 90 lbs.

Q: ARE THERE FISH IN THE LAKE?

A: Of course! Lake trout are common!
Lake Fishing regulations, daily catch quotas and license fees change frequently.  Residents of British Columbia under 16 do not require a license.  If you are under 16 and a non-resident, a person with a license must accompany you.

Please be safe and comply with these regulations.
